cake smash sessions
session details
as an experienced madison area milestone and cake smash photographer, i have thse dialed in.
milestone and cake smash sessions take place monday through friday between 9 and 1 in my rio, wi studio.
the studio has a neutral styling and a simple white backdrop or a beautiful canvas backdrop.
parents and siblings are not included in milestone sessions but parens can be added on for an additional fee.
for cake smash sessions, cakes are purchase separately for $30. if you choose to bring your own cake, it must be white or nude colored frosting. red, hot pink, black and blue frostings are prohibited due to staining. please send a photo of your planned cake for approval prior to your session. cakes with unapproved frosting cannot be used.
It is honestly super normal. Not every baby likes the feeling of frosting on their fingers. Often times, babies are more than willing to try the cake if mom or dad helps them get a piece. This gets so MESSY so please consider bringing extra clothes for yourself.
what if my baby doesn't want to participate?
I always recommend bringing your baby a snack and a drink for their milestone and cake smash sessions. Puffs work really well for hiding in the cake to get your baby more interested in the cake smash.
snacks and drinks
Milestone sessions can be used at any point in your baby's first year. I do however recommend booking at least a month in advance.
Cake smashes are held in my Rio, WI studio, on Monday-Fridays between 9 and 1. If you are in need of these portraits for your baby's first birthday party, I recommend your baby's session taking place between 10 and 11 months.
