Welcome to the Pardeeville Studio!
I am thrilled to have opened a second studio for Finch & Mae. This studio is entirely different than the Rio location but it is still just as wonderful and a whole lot of fun.
The Pardeeville Studio location offers beautiful “natural light”, intimate moments and a more hands on approach for newborn sessions. Newborn sessions are focused more on the intimate and raw emotions of having a newborn. We don’t focus on if your baby sleeps, neutral and earth tone colors with minimal prop usage like you may see coming from the Rio studio.
Milestone sessions are still just as fun with a little more of a home like feeling added in. Typically milestone sessions are with a solid backdrop but I am so excited to add in such a timeless and neutral toned aesthetic.
Family and Motherhood Sessions are going to be absolutely perfect. The studio is the best size for these sweet sessions and to be honest, the lighting is incredible.

Your sweet baby will grow so quickly, I promise you will want to remember every little detail about them.
Documenting that sweet baby that you waited so long for is truly so amazing. The excitement of a newborn does not just stop with the newborn phase but it continues every single day as your baby learns new things.
The core memories of being a parent are things like the first smile, the first giggle, crawling, cruising furniture, first steps and beyond. The excitement does not leave.
I will be honest, I love documenting babies throughout their first year. I love seeing so many amazing personalities, hearing the giggles, watching them clap and roll over. It brings me back to when my three children were that age. The overwhelming fun that a baby in the first year can be. Hearing parents stories and watching their faces light up as they tell me about all their baby can do.
It is damn magical!
You don’t want to miss this.

Outdoor Maternity
I absolutely loved getting to know Alyssa while we planned her outdoor maternity session. We discussed wardrobe, locations, her previous experience with other photographers. Every conversation that we had flowed naturally. We discussed her pregnancy, the baby soon to make his entrance and what she was hoping to gain from her session.
Alyssa not only booked a maternity session but she had booked a newborn session as well. Getting to know Alyssa and her husband Rusty during their maternity session made me truly look forward to seeing them again for a newborn in the studio. Together, they were both so fun and relaxed.
Alyssa had brought a few choices for dresses for her session and she wore both dresses beautifully. They were truly the perfect pieces for the location that she had picked.
When is the right time to book your maternity session? I always recommend booking your newborn session as early as possible as calendars fill up quickly.
When do maternity sessions take place? I typically have mamas plan to have their maternity sessions done between 28 and 34 weeks.
Where can my session take place? Sessions can take place in your home, on your farm, my Rio, WI studio or at an agreed upon location.
What time of day can I have my session? Sessions can take place at any time in the studio. However, if you are having your session outdoors, the session takes place at golden hour to achieve the best possible lighting.
Do you have clothing for me to wear? I absolutely do. I offer a Client Wardrobe for expecting mamas. I also offer a Mini Client Wardrobe for children under four.
Now booking maternity sessions through August 2024.

Your kiddo is turning one in a few months, the time has flown by. Are you wondering how you have made it through sleepless nights? Teething baby? Hundreds of diapers? You made it because you are amazing. Let’s talk Cake Smash Sessions.
Cake Smashes are the perfect celebratory session for this milestone in your baby’s life.
Originally, the cake smashes in the Rio studio were consisting of balloon garland, busy backdrops, and not a lot of focus solely on baby. As I revamped what I thought a cake smash should look like, I fell in love with the simplicity of what they could be.
I pictured a solid backdrop, beautiful outfit and a custom cake from the local baker in town. I had a vision and I went with it.
Zero regrets!
When I think of cake smashes, I think of wanting the focus to be on that sweet baby, to showcase their amazing and growing personality not colorful balloons, busy backgrounds and loads of props. I want the cake smash to truly be all about your baby.
Classic. Timeless. Beautiful.
Let’s talk about Norrie’s Cake Smash. Norrie came in to the studio right around her first birthday. I picked a nude colored backdrop to go well with two beautiful outfits from the Mini Client Wardrobe. Norrie wore a light pink bodysuit with hood that went perfectly with the nude background and posing box. She smiled and laughed with not a care in the world. When her mama changed her, I cleared the posing box and brought out the most wonderful cake from Nikki’s Cakes. I will be honest, she absolutely rocked the handmade onesie and bonnet set. It looked absolutely perfect on her. Norrie thoroughly enjoyed her cake and dove right in. Like all cake smash sessions, baby is given a wooden spoon to help with digging into their cake but they also love the spoon to show off just how well they can feed themselves.
How does the process work? Let’s chat about it.
You booked your cake smash session. The contract is signed and the retainer is paid. We get a date picked for the cake smash session.
We discuss colors that you may have in mind. Some parents want colors that go well with the colors of their home so they go well with their interior of their home. Some parents choose for the colors to go well with their baby’s bedroom. Many parents hand complete creative control over to me. There is no wrong answer, I promise.
I place the cake order with my local baker, Nikki’s Cakes & Specialty Cakes out of Rio.
The day of your session comes, I pick up the cake and head to my Rio studio.
We start the session off with portraits. I start it this way because not every baby responds to cake the same way. I make it my goal to at least get some beautiful and classic portraits of your kiddo.
Once the portraits are finished, we move on to changing your baby’s outfit and setting up the cake. Don’t be concerned if your baby hates the cake, wants nothing to do with the cake or cries. It is normal and your baby isn’t the first one to have this reaction. Other babies absolutely love the cake and dive right in.
When the session is finished, we get your baby cleaned up and changed. Within 24 hours, I get you a preview of you baby’s session.
Tips to make your cake smash go better?
Bring small snacks to encourage your baby to want to touch the cake. A great snack is Puffs.
Bring a favorite toy, this works well for sitting behind me and getting your baby to look at the camera and hopefully smile at something familiar.
Don’t go into the session with any expectations of what your baby will or won’t do. You would be surprised at how willing they sometimes can be.
I also recommend bringing a sippy/bottle so they can wash the cake down when they are finished.
