Lyla | Sun Prairie Cake Smash Photographer

I absolutely love cake smashes especially when they are simple and put all of the focus on the baby.

Lyla came into the Rio studio to celebrate turning one years old. With Lyla came her mama and her big sister to help bring out all of her smiles.

The first setup in Lyla’s Cake Smash + Portraits was a beautiful shade of pink. The backdrop paired wonderfully with a custom made romper from a newborn and baby clothing vendor. When we switched over to the cake smashing part of her session, mama changed her into a great two piece outfit with teal bottoms and a lace boho top.

Lyla had her custom cake made by Nikki’s Cakes and Specialty Cakes out of Rio, this is where all of the cakes for cake smashes come from.

Becky is the photographer and creator behind all cake smash, maternity and newborn sessions. All sessions are held in the studio where beautiful props and dainty and fun outfits are available.

Some parents are concerned that their baby may not like cake and I like to tell them that it is COMPLETELY NORMAL. I promise, most babies that come through are not all that interested. We still make it fun by smashing the cake with a wooden spoon, clapping, dancing and celebrating their first birthday.
