Cake Smash Sessions + Milestone Sessions are some of my most booked sessions during the year. I see a lot of my newborn photography session clients again for these exciting milestones. I also get to meet new faces for these sessions.

I have been obsessed with photographing babies for as long as I have been in business. Actually, I have loved photographing babies since I had my first kid fifteen years ago. The difference? I was not a professional. I did not own a professional camera. I used a point and shoot camera (not very well either) and of course whichever phone I had at the time. I look back to those pictures now and I see a few things. The pictures still mean a lot to me because they are of my kid. The pictures hold onto the time that I no longer have as he grows older. I also see how the coloring is weird, the pictures are fuzzy or blurry. Cell phone pictures then were great but as time has evolved, they are now considered terrible quality.

I have considered what I want to do to help families get beautiful pictures of their kids and I came up with Flash Sale. It has done so well so far and so many families are booking. I love that they are not only getting pictures done but they are investing in beautiful portraits that will one day be passed down to generations. Family Heirlooms mean so much to so many people. My children are 15, 7 and 5, all three love seeing family pictures. The kids love seeing mom and dad when they were little, pictures of their grandparents and great grandparents. Seeing life before they were born is so intriguing to them.

As a Wisconsin maternity photographer, it is my job and passion to help clients discover what it is that they are looking for. Not familiar with the types of sessions that are offered? That is okay. Many expecting mamas that have never had a maternity session before are just aware that they want to document the session, this is where I come in to help you. Not sure of what to wear? The great thing is that we offer a full client wardrobe for mamas and small children, a list of beautiful locations and help with posing to ensure you feel your absolute best.

But Becky… what types of sessions are there? Well the most common are in-studio, in your home or at an outdoor location.

Photographing your maternity session in the the beautiful Wisconsin fields is the absolute best landscape. Sessions are held at golden hour to give dreamy vibes to your gallery and wall art.

A large portion of the maternity sessions take place in my Rio, WI studio. Why? This allows us to have our session no matter the weather, backdrops, easy outfit changes and lighting.

lifestyle or in your home

Lastly, your session can be held in your home or in our Pardeeville, WI studio with a lifestyle vibe.

Milestone Sessions are an absolute blast. These sessions are perfect for kiddos ranging from 4 months-one year.

Milestone Sessions are also commonly known as Sitter Sessions. These are probably one of my most favorite sessions to photograph.

Brett came to visit me in the Pardeeville Studio for a quick and fun milestone session. Brett wore two different outfits from the Client Wardrobe and played with some soft carrots and a fun wooden stacking toy.

These sessions show off how sweet their personality is becoming, we capture their smiles, laughs, sitting, rolling and standing.

At Finch & Mae Photography, I truly believe that a woman’s body is incredible no matter the stage.

This maternity session was fun, beautiful and to be honest picture perfect. This beautiful mama had brought two of her own outfits but was also completely open to trying a new two piece outfit that had just arrived in the Client Wardrobe.

Nicole chose a beautiful county park in Dane County to have her session at. We ventured around the park visiting the lake, fields and the boardwalk.

Many mamas that book sessions with Finch & Mae Photography love using the Client Wardrobe that is filled with dresses, skirts and tops.

What is the purpose of the Client Wardrobe?

1. Adds cohesive style to your session and gallery.
2. Avoids the need to shop for your session- you will most likely only wear the outfit once.

The Client Wardrobe ranges from 0-3 months through toddler age, a few school age child sizes and mamas ranging from xs through 4xl.
